"Living in a dry climate, I get a lot of clients coming in with extremely chapped lips and hands. What is the best way to treat such extreme dehydration?"

It’s most important to hydrate the skin from the surface and then reinforce the barrier layer with emollients and lipids such as Evening Primrose, Shea Butter, Vitamin E and Borage Seed Oil. For lips, clients should avoid the long wear products as they can be very drying. Recommend a hand cream to quench hands that are washed often and wear gloves to combat the cold weather. To treat the most severe dryness, hydrate hands in the evening with a product rich in emollients and wear cotton gloves to force product penetration.
