"There seems to be a strange new trend going on with non-toxic Elmer’s glue - people are using it as a mask to remove blackheads! I imagine that this is very drying and stripping to the skin. What else can you tell me to help me guide people in the right direction with this trend? They find that it's cheap and effective. I'm kind of alarmed!"

Glue is in no way meant to be used on the skin, end of story. As far as we know, you can't see the ingredients in glue, and therefore you have no idea what toxins are absorbing into the skin. Hopefully, that would be enough to point people in the right direction. And yes, a lot of people try to save money when it comes to products - remind them that often the damage done from harsher, cheaper ingredients puts you at higher risk for permanent damage.
